ROBERT RECOMMENDS

Flavours of boysenberry and bittersweet chocolate dominate when describing this Chilian classic, Secreto Carmenere of the Secreto Colchagua Valley. This one leads to a long rich finish. This Shiraz from Shoofly, hails from the Adelaide hills. Friendly on the palate it exhibits a nose of violets, plums, and blueberry. It has a ripe flavor with a smooth finish. El Coto de Rioja Crianza, is moderately dense dark red in colour. Ripe strawberry and raspberry nose with a note of vanillia. Palate is smooth, balanced, fresh, dry and clean.

Causse d’Arboras ‘JJJ’, 90 pts, Robert Parker

Terrasses du Larzac is an AOC within the Côteaux du Languedoc created in 2005 for red wines made from Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes, with the acceptable additions of Cinsaut and Carignan, grown in some of the highest vineyards of the Côteaux du Languedoc on the slopes of the Cevennes.
The new owner of Domaine Causse d’Arboras is Jean-Louis Sagne. With his partners, Jean-Rene and Jean-Luc (the 3 Js) they produce two wines from this 20 ha domaine; ‘Les Cazes’ and ‘JJJ’ (after themselves!) The grapes are hand-harvested and the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak, producing rich, well-integrated wines.
