Leone de Castris

Leone de Castris is the top producer in Salento, southern Puglia. They are also the oldest winery, dating back to 1665.
Amongst its achievements, the winery is credited with the invention of the famed red wine called Salice Salentino over 50 years ago. Although the vineyard operations of Leone de Castris are not certified as organic, in essence, they really are as they practise organic viticulture.
