Gomez Cruzado

In 2023 Tim Atkin rated Gómez Cruzado as a Rioja 1st Growth and among the top 5 producers in all of Rioja.
Dating back to 1886, when Angel Gómez de Arteche started to make and bottle his own wine in Haro, the very heart of Rioja Alta. Today Rioja revolutionists David González (winemaker) and Juan Antonio Leza (viticulturalist) head up the winemaking team that have taken Gomez Cruzado to the very top tier of Rioja wines. All the wines are naturally fermented.
Each cuvée is crafted from small plots of old bush vines in the most elevated (600m+) areas of Rioja Alta and Alavesa.
