Description
‘Le Plateau’ Châteauneuf has notes of crème de cassis, graphite, toasted bread and garrigue. Beautiful minerality gives way to a concentrated, full-body.
The plateau is the most beautiful terroir and represents the jewel and soul of the estate. They don’t produce the plateau every year, because this terroir is exceptional when the climate is hot, dry, with small yields and a good concentration. The grapes come only from the plateau of Mont-Redon, from vines that are between 80 and 100 years old. The wine is vinified normally, but is aged separately for a longer period of time so that the wine reveals its personality.
The Château Mont-Redon estate owns 100 hectares of vines in Châteauneuf du Pape, 30 hectares in Lirac and 20 hectares in Côtes du Rhône.
Château Mont-Redon are known for thier know-how and skill as wine makers. Typically the wines show a powerful character, great concentration, and excellent balance. Château Mont-Redon are one of the stars of the Châteauneuf.
