Bodegas Salentein
Established in the late 1990s, Bodegas Salentein are pioneers in Argentina’s Uco Valley. First to plant in the Uco, Salentein have vineyards in some of the highest elevations on the planet.
Salentein are totally committed to mastering the art of high-altitude vineyard cultivation. Head wine-maker José Galante is one of the most influential in Argentina and is regarded as the ‘Father of Argentine Malbec’.
Salentein take a very holistic approach to their land, with a preservation project using native flora as cover crops. No pesticides are used in the vineyards and organic matter from winemaking is returned to the land. This holistic approach is also carried through to the local community, with several projects undertaken to protect local arts and culture.
