Viu Manent
Viu Manent, a family-owned winery, was founded in 1935 when Catalan immigrant Miguel Viu García and his two sons, Augustin and Miguel Viu Manent, founded Bodegas Viu in Santiago de Chile. Today the third generation is led by owner-director José Miguel Viu Bottini. Covering some 260 hectares of vineyards in Chile’s renowned Colchagua Valley appellation, its winemaking philosophy centres on the never-ending search for quality and identity in its wines.
The wines are made sustainably with natural yeasts and low SO2. Viu Manent are in conversion to organic and are 90% there. Wine consultant Paul Hobbs has helped greatly to drive quality forward.
