Decanter World Wine Awards

We are just blown away to see the awards given to Bodega Garzón at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards.

The Decanter World Wine Awards are possibly the most prestigious awards of their kind for them to give 96 points for the 2023 Tannat Reserva and 92 Points for 2024 Albariño Reserva really blows us away.

 The judges loved the Tannat and wrote;
“Capacious notes of spiced blueberry compote, red florals and a squidge of balsamic; full of juicy tension and verve with a persuasive freshness that lingers.”  96 Points!
“Creamy peach melba and leesy richness. Fresh, balanced, with Albariño typicity. Intense citrus, firm acidity, saline depth and a graceful finish.” 92 Points!
Bodega Garzón is a Uruguayan winery founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni in 2008, located near the Atlantic coast in Maldonado. It specializes in sustainable, cool-climate viticulture, with Tannat as its flagship grape.
The winery is LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for both design and operation, emphasizing renewable energy and gravity-flow winemaking.
Two real favourites of mine; the perfect blend of quality and novelty that customers love to try…
