Description
Astobiza, Malkoa is made in a single-estate winery located in the Ayala Valley, in the Basque Country. Its wines are characterized by a unique Atlantic microclimate, altitude, and mineral-rich soils. Working exclusively with native grape varieties, the focus is on the purity and expression of the terroir.
A philosophy of sustainability and minimal intervention defines both vineyard and winery practices. The result is elegant, fresh wines with great aging potential and a strong gastronomic identity
Tasting Note: Malkoa displays great complexity, highlighting
spicy and balsamic aromas, with dominant citrus (grapefruit) and
fresh aromatic herb notes. With a distinctly Atlantic character, it
boasts a very long, fresh, powerful, and structured palate, and can
age for many years in the bottle.
