Description
Astobiza, Txacoli is made in a single-estate winery located in the Ayala Valley, in the Basque Country. Its wines are characterized by a unique Atlantic microclimate, altitude, and mineral-rich soils. Working exclusively with native grape varieties, the focus is on the purity and expression of the terroir.
A philosophy of sustainability and minimal intervention defines both vineyard and winery practices. The result is elegant, fresh wines with great aging potential and a strong gastronomic identity
Tasting Note: A clean and bright wine. Straw yellow in color with
greenish reflections. The nose displays an intense varietal expression,
highlighting aromas of white fruit such as pear and apple, citrus notes of
grapefruit, and hints of stone fruit like peach. On the palate, it is fresh and
flavorful, with good structure and balance, a slightly unctuous texture
imparted by aging on lees, and a long, aromatic, and persistent finish with
subtle bitter and mineral notes that reflect the character of the soil and the
variety.
